New Year

Well the New Year is almost here, and then it’s back in the workshop. Lots of project for Woodturning magazine to start and complete. Then new stock to make up for the gallery which will be open from the 4th January.

I have demonstration to prepare for, which see me travelling through the UK.

Course booking are coming in, some for later in the year, it’s good to see the work now produced by people who have been on a course, and who are showing and selling their items in galleries.

I have a few changers planed for the workshop, maybe a new lathe to teach on which give a wider choice of lathes in my workshop. I will keep you informed on this.

Before Christmas

Well the last week before Chrismas is very busy with courses and articles for the Woodturning magazine. I am hoping for a week off to catch up on jobs around the house and to read a few magazines that have been around for a while, time goes so quick, what I think will take a sort time seams to take longer then expected.
I wish all my friends a happy Chrismas and a good new year.

Hectic time

This month has been hectic so far and it’s not over. A demo this week down at Erewash Valley Woodturners Association and next week at The Cheshire Guild of Woodturners, as well as running courses in my workshop, and I am working on some new items which will be seen next year.

My hobby as some of you will know is sea fishing but only managed a few hours one night last week, hoping for a few hours later if I can find time. Days and weeks seem to go so quickly, and when I had to buy a 2014 calendar a few months ago this makes the year pass so quickly.

Friday, 14 June 2013

This week has been spent mostly at the computer rather then the lathe, this is down to a pulled muscle in my neck, this makes you realise how vulnerable we all are. This is a week that I write my articles for the Woodturning magazine, which is now almost completed.

The next week is very busy with a Demonstration at a woodturning club, and then a weekend event at the Ryedale Folk Museum.

I cant believe that we are almost at the longest day in a weeks time, where has this year gone.

Well back to turning stock for the shop and orders that need making, not forgetting a coffee or two.

My weeks

This time of year is so busy for me. I have courses booked for each weekend this month to run, this is very enjoyable seeing people go home with a big smile on they faces with the items they have  made during the day. The rest of the week is my time to turn more items for the shop and writing articles for the Woodturning magazine, this is very satisfying when you have a big response to the articles saying how much they have enjoyed reading them and then going out to there workshops to make the items. Well time to go for now, more later.
